中考英语听力试题主要考查学生在一定语境中的推理、判断能力，考查学生对完整语篇的综合理解能力， 它们的测试要点大致可分为四个方面：
1．理解主旨大意题
任何一段对话都是围绕一个中心而展开的，考生必须对所听内容有一个全面的把握。常见的问题有：

2．获取具体信息题
对话中往往具备像时间、地点、人物、价钱、数量、原因、目的等方面的具体细节，学生在接受这些具体信息以后， 做一些简单的数据处理，就能得出说话者的意图，此类常见的问题有：

(2)Who (Whom) is the man/woman talking to (with)… ?
(3)How much does the man /woman pay for the …?
(4)How long has he/she been/worked in …?
(5)Where has the man/ woman gone/been ?
3．推断弦外之音题
考生仅仅理解所听内容的主旨大意是不够的，更多的题目要求考生根据具体事实、关键细节进行推断，从而找出对话的背景、时间、地点、说话者之间的关系。常见的问题有：
(1)What else does the man/woman want to do ?
(2)How does the man/woman get on with …?
(3)What do you think the man/woman is doing ?
(4)What time and where will they meet ?
(5)What’s the relationship between the two speakers?

4. 理解观点意图题
此类题目体现了考生对所听dialogue整体理解能力，每一个说话者都有他的说话意图、观点和态度等， 但需要考生去揣摩。常见的问题有：
(1)What does the dialogue mainly tell us ?
(2)What can we see from the dialogue?
(3)What is the main idea of the dialogue ?
(4)What does the man suggest the woman should do?
